Finding the Words: How to support someone who has been bereaved or affected by suicide

(UCL/The Judi Meadows Memorial Fund)

Few subjects are more challenging than suicide or bereavement. A national survey on the impact of suicide bereavement led by Dr Alexandra Pitman of UCL found that people bereaved by suicide were more likely than people bereaved by other sudden deaths to feel stigmatised and lonely after their bereavement. Finding the Words is a print and digital booklet we co-wrote with Dr Pitman based upon her research, offering advice on how to support a friend or colleague who has been bereaved by suicide. It is supported by the Judi Meadows Memorial Fund and the Support After Suicide Partnership (SASP).
